Jane Trites Reinhart releases first CD
05/10/2010
I had never heard the name Jane Reinhart, until she called that morning. She is releasing a debut seven-song CD on Friday. I was amazed to learn how many acquaintances we shared. Even a next door neighbour, through her vocation as a teacher. She studied classical voice with Janet Kidd and appeared in area operatic performances with Janet and her husband Richard. She has performed at Long Reach Kitchen Parties with Sylvia Campbell, Fraser Smith and with George Boone. On her CD, George plays lead guitar and Krista Trecartin mood evoking violin. "I was overjoyed when Krista agreed to do it," Jane said. "I admire her interpretive violin skills so much." Jane's album, Mama's Song, is being released as part of a Gospel Music Concert Celebrating Mothers on Friday at 7 p.m. at Quispamsis United Church, 372 Hampton Rd. It features Jane Reinhart and friends (Barb Campbell-Day, George Boone, Krista Trecartin and Steve Norman) with the Sea Belles Quartet and the trio New Horizon. Jane is a former member of the Sea Belles and has sang in several church choirs. A freewill donation to the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life is the admission. The CD was recorded and mastered by Mike Boyer at Lancaster Recording Studio. As always, Mike has done a superb job. Particularly artful is his enchanting nightingale sound effects on Jane's warm treatment of Love At Home. Four of the songs are originals written by Jane: The Spirit Of The Lord, Lord Hear My Prayer, Missing You and the title track Mama's Song. "It's an inspirational album except for Missing You, which is a song of yearning for a lost love," she said. "The other two songs are traditional hymns, Great Is Thy Faithfulness and O Love That Will Not Let Me Go." Jane credits Barb Campbell-Day, the CD's keyboardist and arranger, as being the person who inspired her to record. "She is an incredible vocalist herself, " Jane said. "As is another woman I've recently met and hope to work with some day, Mary (Stewart) Stillwell. To obtain a copy of the CD, call Jane at 847-3355. Back to headlines
